WELCOME
To our 2 and 3 day Practical
MAP READING and COMPASS BEARINGS course in the wilderness
areas of the Central Snowdonia National Park North Wales.
Far
from the maddening crowds
The thought of using
a map and, particularly, a compass in difficult and demanding
situations can be quite daunting.
We are qualified
Mountain Leaders with 20 years of practical experience in
the hills and mountains of the British Isles.
We aim to demystify
the whole process and give you the confidence to go out there
on the hills and tackle the worst that the weather and the
terrain can throw at you.
We are based near
the Rhinogs which is one of the more remote and wild areas
of Snowdonia. In fact if we meet someone else while we are
out on the hills we are very surprised. So its ideal country
for practising your navigation techniques.
You can stay with
us on our traditional Welsh hill farm and walk straight out
onto the hills.
We have a very personal
and informal approach to our courses so we can have a very
flexible approach to individual needs.
We aim to
give you the confidence to go out and navigate yourself on
hills.
